Garage door control on a vista panel will require a z wave controller like the tuxedo touch or vam along with a compatible z wave relay like the linear gd00z 4. The gd00z 4 will not work with lynx touch or lyric panels.

A smart garage door controller that does this is the linear gd00z 4. Although had to buy a z wave extender to reach it as the hub was too far from my garage. Make certain to connect the garage door to the z wave outlet side of the module. Pair with the st hub and test to see if it activates the garage door.

This will detect the relay and add it as a standard z wave relay. Acts as a repeater to extend z wave network reach. A relay switch is a 110v ac powered switch that has two wires which can be connected to any device to turn them on and off. Be sure to confirm firmware revision with your alarm company on the tux or vam when integrating one of these relays.

Connect the ge z wave light appliance module between the garage power cable and the line. I used a magnetic reed switch instead of a zwave sensor though to detect open close. Connect the power cable to the outlet and pair the linear fs20z 1 z wave relay. Easily connected to your door s existing motor garage door controller enhances it with a suite of security and safety sensors.

This is done by specifically pairing the tilt sensor with the z wave garage door controller. I use the qubino flush 1d relay to control my garage door. Includes positional tilt sensor mounting bracket hardware and accessories. What is amazing is that you can use this fairly cheap z wave relay switch to open and close your garage door using your mobile phone and the smart things app.

The value template attribute can use your zwave sensor and the open close stop can use whatever method for activating the relay. Once you pair the z wave garage door controller with the the z wave hub the hub itself will be able to determine the status of the garage door based on the activity of the tilt sensor. Compatible with most residential garage door operations all z wave certified devices. Then press the physical button on the relay.
